Imogene O'Grady was born to John E. and Marguerite "Daisy" (Stirling) Brink on July 10, 1927, in Sturgis.
On April 19, 1955, she married Michael "Mick" O'Grady. Together they had four children. She loved living on the ranch, and cherished the hard work of the ranch life, raising a family, and cooking wonderful dishes for friends and family. She loved to visit and play cards, but above all, Imogene's life revolved around her family and she devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, and friend.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Plainview, and a member of many other local clubs. Imogene was a longtime resident of Meade County.
Imogene, 92, of White Owl, died on Friday, July 26, 2019, at Sturgis Regional Hospital.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Margarete "Mickey" (Maynard) Ross of Cherokee IA, Colleen (Gene) Robinson of Rapid City, Shannon (Mary) O'Grady of Sturgis, and Tom (Rachel) O'Grady of White Owl; a sister, Marjorie Matthews; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Mick" O'Grady; two grandsons, Michael Pinney and Shane Culbertson; 3 brothers, Murel (Lavine) Brink, Elmer (Mae) Brink, and Frank (Lois) Brink; two sisters, Gladys (Howard) Gees and Jennie (Lilburn) Weimer; and a brother-in-law, Bernard Matthews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 3, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Father Timothy Castor officiating. Burial will follow at White Owl Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Enning Fire Department or the Rural Meade County Ambulance.
