Justin Lee Plunkett, 33, died peacefully in the morning on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at his home in Whitewood, SD.

Justin "Woody" Plunkett was born April 19, 1983, in Spearfish, SD, to Clark and Glenda Plunkett. He was raised in Whitewood and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School with the Class of 2002. He later went on to work for BNSF as a track maintenance technician for the railroad.

Justin lived in Whitewood most of his life, but the railroad took him all over the country. He enjoyed traveling, and specifically to Glacier National Park.

In his spare time, Justin could be found with family and friends, camping, starting fires, or fishing the shores of the Missouri River, Orman Dam, the lakes of Custer State Park, and anywhere else he could drop a line.

A loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and always, faithful friend, Justin touched the lives of all he met.

He is survived by his father, Clark (Kayleen) Plunkett, Whitewood, SD; brother, Jeremy Nelson, Orange Vale, CA; brother, Ryan (Heather) Plunkett, Sheridan, WY; sister, Mandy Plunkett, Lead, SD; step-sister, Sheena (Brian) Cossette, Summerset, SD; step-brother, Shane (Sam) Boice, Nisland, SD; beloved nephews and nieces, Drew, Anthony, and Zachary Nelson, Molly and Morgan Plunkett, Avery Emme, and Natalie and Alex Boice; grandparents, Dean (Eileen) Strong, Spearfish, SD, Ginnie Prascher, Sturgis, SD and Darleen Plunkett, Spearfish, SD; uncles, Lonnie (Linda) Strong, Rapid City, SD, Bobby (Sandy) Strong, Sioux Falls, SD, Billy Plunkett, Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, Patrice (Manny) Fields, Cheyenne, WY, Christine (Ray) Kaiftors, Whitewood, SD, Linda (Mike) Trautman, Deadwood, SD, and Marcy (Delburn) Satterfield, Casper, WY; and several cherished cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Plunkett; aunt, Gina Engle; grandfathers, William Plunkett and Warren Prascher; and great-grandmother, Jessie Strong.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Whitewood Presbyterian Church.
