Darrell E. Taggart, 76, Lead, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 10, 1936, at White River, SD, to Walter and Inez Taggart. On May 17, 1957, he married Carol Olson.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; two daughters, Sheryl (Kenne), Laurel, MT, and Carol, Deadwood, SD; three sons, Laryl (Lynn), Harrisburg, NE, Jarrell, Rapid City, and Richard (Darla) Sundance, WY; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Brewer and Rose Townsend, both of Yankton, SD, Betty Berquist of Arizona, and Mabel Jean of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws; daughter-in-law, Sonia; five brothers, Floyd, Glenn, Lowell, Edward, and Robert; and two sisters, Patty Walter and Irene Davenport.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Randy Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Lawn Cemetery near Lead.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be in memory of Darrell Taggart to Hospice of the Northern Hills.
