Davina “Dee” (Cooley) Blair peacefully passed away in her sleep at her home in Buffalo, WY. Dee was born on February 26, 1951, in Oskaloosa, IA, the second daughter of James Howard Cooley and Wilma Amy (Trohkimoinen) Cooley. She attended Sturgis Brown High School and had some post-secondary education in Environmental Law and Land Management. She married Bruce Calvin Blair on March 7, 1968, and to that union was born a son, Terry J. Blair on September 20, 1968.
Dee worked almost exclusively in the Oil and Gas Industry during her professional career, starting as Land Manager for Western Production Company in Rapid City, SD. She served as a consultant to numerous oil and gas companies in Montana, Wyoming, and North Dakota for most of her oil and gas career.
Dee is survived by her siblings, Lynn (Tom) Archuleta of Littleton, CO, Maury (Tim) Anderson of Sturgis, SD, David Cooley of Sturgis, Jay Cooley of Murietta, CA, Kent Cooley of Rapid City, SD, and Jon Cooley of Rapid City; nieces, Jennifer Anderson, Shawna Jo Klapperich, and Katelyn Cooley; nephews, Scott Cooley, Bryan Cooley, and John Cooley; aunts, Catherine Compton and Joanne Presley; and many cousins.
Dee was preceded in death by her son, Terry J. Blair; her parents, James and Wilma Cooley; her maternal/paternal grandparents, Andrew and Hilda (Baas) Trohkimoinen, and Floyd and Josephine (Kurtz) Cooley; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life is being considered for a later date.
