Lawrence William Rambo was born December 27, 1955, in Adrian, MI, to William H. Rambo and Lucille A. (Mitchell) Rambo-Rawson.
He graduated from Gordon High School, Gordon, NE, in 1974. He did two tours of duty with the United States Air Force. He drove an 18-wheeler for Black Hills Packing, Co. for several years after which he attended Black Hills Vo-Tech, graduating top in his class for boat mechanic. He then attended school for Mercury Motors and graduated Master Mechanic.
The last several years, he spent his time doing all the things he loved: hunting, fishing, and prospecting for gold. He was also an avid camper, loved reading, and spending time at the senior center in Lead, SD, with his many friends.
Lawrence passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
He is survived by his mother, Lucille A. Rambo-Rawson of Gordon, NE; daughter, Charlene (Rambo) and Lee Dalious, Houston, DE; siblings, Terry and Penny Rambo, Glennyce (Rambo) and Dennis Nelson, James and Tonya Rambo; step-sister, Natalie Braden: step-brother, Glenn Braden; and granddaughters, Brandi and Brie; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Reverend William H. Rambo of Castleton, VT.
A private family burial will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Donations can be made in his name to D. A.V. of Rapid City or the Lead Senior Center.
