Pam was born December 28, 1953, in Deadwood, SD. She grew up on a small farm east of Spearfish, SD. While growing up, she enjoyed riding, gentle breaking, and training horses. She graduated from Spearfish High School in 1972 and afterwards joined the U.S. Navy. Pam worked as a Corpsman in the Navy and was stationed in Corpus Christi, TX, and Pensacola, FL. She often recalled some of the best memories occurred while serving in the Navy.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, she returned to Spearfish where she met and married Ward Williamson in 1977. The couple welcomed 2 children into their home. Her children remember her as a kind, loving, and devoted mother, who was always there for them and encouraged them to pursue their goals. Pam began working at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center in 1986 as a ward clerk and continued to work there in various positions over the next 24 years until she had to medically retire due to her struggle with medical issues caused by rheumatoid arthritis.
Pam loved to travel, camp, ride with her husband on the motorcycle, and overall spend time with her family. Her most memorable travels include a trip to western Europe, a motorcycle trip from South Dakota to Alaska and back, and her 30th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii. She was extremely kind and giving without never a bad word to say towards anyone. She would always try new activities, no matter how leery she seemed of the idea. She was a member of the auxiliary at the VFW post 5860 and often volunteered.
Pamela Jean (Hansen) Williamson died peacefully at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Fort Meade, SD, on July 5, 2020, at the age of 66.
The family would like to thank her many friends, coworkers, and staff at the Fort Meade VA medical center for their excellent and compassionate care.
Pam is survived by her husband, Ward Williamson, Spearfish, SD; children, Virginia Christensen (Clint), Casper, WY, Tiffany Bolsta (Ryan), Spearfish, SD, and Chandies Williamson (Chantelle), Rapid City, SD; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Meisel; her father, Francis “Buck” Duane Hansen; and brother, Lyle Hansen.
A committal ceremony officiated by Pastor Scott McKurdy is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at Black Hills National Cemetery for immediate family only, with a reception to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Spearfish City Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pam's life.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

I'm so sorry to hear of Pam's passing. I carpooled and worked with her at Fort Meade. She was such a kind lady.

I offer my condolences to the Williamson family. I worked with Pam from 2004 until she retired. She was a pleasure to work with and a wealth of information on VA regulations which have many twists and turns. She was dedicated to making sure veterans got the services they were entitled to. We lost a wealth of corporate knowledge when she retired. I enjoyed working and learning from her. Rest in Peace Pam

I worked at Fort Meade and remember Pam’s dedication to other veterans. She always had a smile and greeted those in the hallways.

I'm sure Pam will be dearly missed. We didn't know Pam real well but her parents and Lyle were very nice friends and I know there will be such a celebration when she is united with them. The last time I saw the family was at Virginia 's funeral. Ward our sympathy goes out to you and yourfamily but I know Pam will not be in pain any longer our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you
