Obituary for William A. “Tony” Klusak

Tony was born in Roanoke, AL on March 23, 1958. Tony graduated from Kaneland High School in Maple Park, IL, and furthered his education at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL, and Illinois State University in Bloomington Normal, IL, where Tony was a member of the Delta Signa Phi Fraternity house and the Social Chairman.
Tony followed in his father’s footsteps of a life career in law enforcement. After 25 years of public service as a deputy, he retired from the Kane County Sheriff’s Department, Batavia, IL, in 2008.
Tony enjoyed many activities and hobbies throughout his life; football and wrestling in high school, then softball in Batavia, IL, and rugby in Elgin, IL, during his college years. Tony also enjoyed playing golf and fishing with his brothers and numerous friends.
William A. “Tony” Klusak, 62, of Sturgis, SD, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
Tony is survived by his aunt, Linda (Farr) Stanton and husband, Jim Stanton; uncle, Jess Farr; siblings, Tammy (Klusak) Bohn, and her husband Justin, Sturgis, SD, Jerry Klusak of Sioux Falls, SD; and sister-in-law, Sandy (Klusak) Van Sant, Spokane, WA; nephews, Nicholas, David, and Stephen (Meranda) Klusak; nieces, Maggie Rose (Klusak) Bug (John) and Anne Klusak; along with cousins, Keith, Lisa, Lori, Hannah, Josh, and Stephan Farr; and other family and friends, especially those from the law enforcement profession.
Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Klusak; his parents, Anne (Farr) Klusak and William A. “Bill” Klusak; his cousins, Todd Stanton and Kim Farr; and his grandparents, Theresa and Joseph Klusak and Louise and Bo Farr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kane County Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #14, PO Box 22, Geneva, IL 60134. The Klusak family wishes to thank everyone from around the world for all the prayers, love and support we have received in such a very short time.
A private family service was held on Friday, September 4, 2020, at Kinkade Funeral Home in Sturgis. Pastor Bill Rich, The Filling Station, Mission at the Cross, Sturgis officiated. Burial will be in Batavia, IL. Funeral arrangements to be determined at a later date.
