IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Abbie Lane
Mcgillivray
March 21, 1925 – June 20, 2014
Abbie Lane Wright McGillivray came into this world on March 21st, 1925 to Ernest and Lavena (Fry) Wright of Faith. She lived in Faith and attended school there.
At a dance, Abbie Lane met and shortly thereafter, married Donald McGillivray. They were married June 3rd, 1943 and resided in Faith for a period of time, before moving to the ranch at Mud Butte. Born to this wonderful union were three sons, Don L., Norman and Delane. Many, many stories have come from the time spent on the ranch with family and friends. Some of these have been put into drawings by a good friend and neighbor.
From the ranch, Abbie Lane and Donald bought the Mud Butte Store in 1975. They lived at and ran the store and Post Office until she sold the store in 1986, and moved back to the ranch. From the ranch she moved into Sturgis where she spent the remainder of her years. She worked many years at the Fort Meade Museum setting displays, giving tours, documenting donations and keeping records of inventories.
Abbie Lane has completed her journey and now resides with our Heavenly Father, her husband Donald, sons Don L., and Norman, her father and mother, 3 brothers (Percy, Archie and Lyle) and 4 sisters (Opal, Gladys, Maye and Juanita).
She will remain alive in the hearts of Son, Delane and his wife Denise, Daughter -in-laws Carla and Pat.
