Obituary

Sturgis, SD ~ Adeline "Addie" Rose Hoffeins Saggau, 97, of Sturgis, South Dakota, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Sturgis Regional Senior Care in Sturgis. She was born in Storm Lake, Iowa to Clara and Harry Hoffeins. Her husband, John L. "Tip" Saggau, was a well known sports announcer in Omaha, Nebraska. Tip always referred to her as his Rosebud. In high school she excelled in swimming and even taught the sport to youngsters in the community center in Denison, Iowa. Addie won several medals for her swimming skills. Tip, Addie and their children enjoyed many summers at their lake home outside Park Rapids, Minnesota, on Big Sand Lake. Fond memories of family reunions are cherished by her family members. Survivors include her four children, Di Saggau, Fort Myers, Florida; Paul Saggau, Arlington, Nebraska; Sally Reiman McKillop, Deadwood, SD; and Joanne Moore (Jinx), Wichita, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John, a son, Tom Saggau and her parents. Upon her request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, January 31 , 2013 at Christ the King Church, 654 S. 86th St. in Omaha, Nebraska; with inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 7710 W. Center Road in Omaha Nebraska.
