Alan James Carlson, 83, Lake Point, UT, died January 22, 2009, at the Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

Committal services will be Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Military honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veteran's honor guard.

Friends may gather at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis prior to leaving for the cemetery.

Survivors include his brother, Duane Carlson, Osage, WY; and his sisters, Joan Kelley, Carlsbad, CA, Julia Cropp, Riverside, CA, Ardith Petershagen, Sioux Falls, SD, and Nancy Higgins, Boise, ID.
