Alberta (Bert) Sorenson, 82, of Newcastle died Sunday, December 23 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Alberta was born December 8, 1930 in Wagner SD, to Elvada Campbell and Albert Giedd. She married Glenn Sorenson in Elk Point SD in December 1950 and over the years the couple made homes in Thermopolis WY, Lead SD, and Newcastle WY. Survivors include her son-in-law, David Fisher of Newcastle; grandchildren, Rick Fisher of Laramie, Wyoming, Sarah (Joel) Chase of Greeley, Colorado, and two great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kaelen Chase of Greeley, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glenn Sorenson, and children Ricky Sorenson, Sandy Fisher, and Lenny Sorenson. A memorial service celebrating Alberta's life will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Four Corners Country Church with Pastor Bill Haley officiating.
