Obituary

Alfred H. Wulff, age 86 years, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, Mitchell, SD.

Graveside rites will be held at the Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Rapid City, SD, on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 10:00 A.M.

Alfred Wulff was born July 7, 1922, to Fred and Marie (Henrichsen) Wulff in Buffalo County, SD. He attended rural schools and graduated from Gann Valley High School in 1940. After graduation, he worked on the family farm. He married Ethel (Hancock) Wulff on September 3, 1957, at Rexburg, ID.

Alfred's job as a tire serviceman for Cobre Tire allowed him and Ethel to travel throughout the southern and midwestern states. They were particularly fond of the years they spent in Gas Hills and Gillette, WY. After retiring in 1985, Alfred and Ethel enjoyed traveling before settling in the Sturgis/Spearfish, SD, area.

Alfred was proud to be a 59-year member of Frontier Masonic Lodge of Wessington Springs, SD.

Ethel passed away January 27, 2007, in Spearfish, SD. In May 2007, Alfred moved to the Prairie View Assisted Living Center in Kimball, SD; then to the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD, in May 2008, where he resided until the time of his death.

Survivers include a brother-in-law, Warren Hancock, Billings, MT, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; parents; four brothers, Frank, Leonard, Clarence (Bullet) and Marcus; and two cousins, Mary (Wulff) Nelson and Helen (Wulff) Oates, who grew up with their family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 East River Pkwy., Minneapolis, MN 55414.
