Alice M. Denke, 87, Sturgis, SD passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Monument Health Sturgis Hospital.

Alice Mary Hirchert was born April 16, 1936, to Ralph and Georgia (Bennett) Hirchert in Rapid City, SD.  She was raised on a ranch near Quinn.  After graduating from high School, she married Erhart E. Denke near Quinn on June 1, 1955.  They ranched together near Quinn, before moving into Wall in 1970, later living at Johnson Siding, Rapid City, and finally settling in Boulder Canyon near Sturgis.

Grateful for sharing her life are her children: Kenneth of Creighton, Debbie (Marty) Gartner of Philip, and Bruce of Sturgis, and Michael of Sturgis; grandchildren: Zachary Denke, Kari (Brad Trautmann) Denke, Coddy (Rachael) Gartner, Katrina Gartner, and Tyler Gartner; great-grandchildren: Kiara Perkins, Andy Grimes, Maria Denke, Fisher Trautmann, and Mia Gartner; brother: Jimmy Hirchert; and nephew, Justin Hirchert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Georgia Hirchert; husband, Erhart E. Denke; daughter, Barbara; son, Carl; daughter-in-law, Nancy Denke.
