Obituary

Alice Raylene Schlosser, 79, passed away October 6, 2021, at Spearfish Canyon Healthcare, Spearfish, South Dakota.

Alice was born, January 17, 1942, in Durant, OK, to Tony and Exie (Jones) Brown.  She attended a number of different schools as the family moved around the country following her dad to his various military duty stations. After WW II the family moved to the Philippines and Alice went along.

After returning to the States, she worked in a missile plant in California, and then re-located to Hot Springs in the early 1960's.  It was there that Alice met Bill Schlosser and the two of them eloped and got married.  The couple had a son, Tracy, who died as an infant.  Around this time the family moved to Spearfish where her husband opened a barbershop, a skill that was passed down in the family!  In 1966 the cutest and most precious baby was born – Richman Lee.  This was followed by the birth of William Adam Schlosser II in 1971. Alice finally settled in Sturgis and raised her family on Pine Street, where she enjoyed crocheting, making rosaries, being active in the Catholic Church, and playing cards.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill, and infant son, Tracy.

She is survived by her two sons, Billy, and Rich; daughter-in-law, Christine; sister, Jeannie Scott; grandchildren, Billy, Angelina, and Megan, and ten great-grandchildren.
