Obituary

The world lost a beautiful man and kind soul with the sudden passing of Allen Adams, 45, Sturgis, SD, on August 21, 2015.

Allen Lane Adams was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on February 22, 1970, to wonderful parents, Jim and Shirley (Davidson) Adams.

Early childhood was spent with his brothers and sisters and extensive family that included cousins, aunts, and uncles that spent hours together just enjoying each other's company. Just a short eleven months after Allen's birth, he was joined by his almost twin brother Joe, who became his co-heart and side kick, to be forever known as the little boys by his family, the two even had their own language for a number of years until school separated them for the first time that first year of school.

Allen graduated from Sturgis Brown High School and started his extensive work history in the painting and tape/texturing business.

He met and married Lana Culver. This would be the start of the most wonderful journey of his life, fatherhood. Allen's heart would beat a little louder and faster and his smile got a little brighter when he was with or talked about his beloved son, Trent Adams, of Pierre. Allen would brag of Trent's talents and his wonderful future to any and all that would listen.

Allen lived with his best friend the last few years, his dad, Jim Adams. The two could be found almost hooked at the hip, whether it was working side by side, hunting, or spending time with their friends and neighbors.

Allen enjoyed life to the fullest, even with the hiccups that life tried to throw his way. He is survived by his precious son, Trent Adams, who resides with his mother, Lana Culver of Pierre, SD; his father, Jim Adams of Sturgis; brother, Jim (Kathy) Adams of Whitewood; sisters, Denise Adams of Belle Fourche and Pam (Carl) Bartlett of Pierre; brother, Joe (Samantha) Adams of Sturgis; and his sister-in-law, Shari Adams of Sturgis. A good friend, Emily. His nieces, nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins were his life-line of happiness and joy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Davidson Adams; brother, Charles Adams; and nephew, Tony Bartlett.

Allen had such a large heart for people he considered so many others, if not related by blood, but related by love, his family. Allen was a fighter of good and would drop everything at a drop of a hat to help anyone who wanted or needed it. May his heart for others in the world be filled with the memory of the incredible joy he felt for life.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
