He was born July 4 th , 1934, in Summerhill, Pennsylvania. In his later years Al's retirement brought him to Ellsworth AFB.  He loved the Black Hills and chose to make it his permanent home, where he enjoyed many activities, such as spending time hunting, fishing, cooking and gardening. As a chef, Al helped to open several local restaurants. He was always so proud of our garden and loved making special candies and treats for others.

Al was a member of the Black Hawk Community Church where he truly enjoyed serving and helping with the various fund-raising projects.  Al so enjoyed the time he was able to spend feeding the youth group and the Easter egg hunts. He always looked forward to helping with the fall produce sale at the church and still loved to visit with people about the prime rib dinners he prepared.

Longtime friends, he married Jean Denief on April 21 st , 1994, and they shared nearly 28 happy years together.

In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his sons, Robert (Gabi) Croyle, Mike Croyle, Phil Croyle, Jude (Jamie) Croyle; and daughters Katrina Trescott, and Nonanna (Richard Dominguez) Finley; brother, Bill Croyle, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
