Alma Frances Kellogg, 95, Sturgis, died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.

Alma Frances Long was born June 18, 1911 at Kadoka, SD, to Alvin C. And Suzanna (Fitzgerald) Long.

She was the youngest of seven children. She was raised in Western South Dakota and lived here many years. She married Frank Rhoden at Chalk Butte, SD, in 1932. They lived for many years in Sturgis, Belle Fourche and in California for 10 years. Alma worked at various jobs. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother and friend to many folks who knew her.

Later, in life, she married Lloyd Kellog in Sturgis on April 28, 1973, and they lived on a ranch west of Sturgis. They also wintered in Arizona for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Lloyd Kellogg, Sturgis; one son Duayne Rhoden and his wife Nonie, Sturgis; six grandchildren, Lisa Boyer, David (Roxana) Rhoden, Robert (Cindy) Rhoden, Amy (Jim) Waddell, Garald and Sheila Rhoden; nine step grandchildren; four step daughters, Dorothy (Jim) Gillispie, Missouri, Linda (Herb) Andrews, Sturgis, Patricia (Walt) Stutzman, Iowa, Marcie (Danny) Young, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Rhoden, one son Garald Rhoden, her parents, brothers, Archie and Jay Long, Ivory Long; sisters, Dessa Talbert, Muriel Humphrey, Violet Yahr.

Burial at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
