Alvin Knute Hagen, 85, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in the extended care unit at Fort Meade Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  The family is planning a memorial service in Minnesota, date to be determined. Following the memorial, Alvin will join his wife Mary at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, Minnesota.

Alvin Hagen was born June 16, 1939, to Lambert and Meta (Hanson) Hagen in Little Falls. He enjoyed a rural childhood and graduated from Royalton High School.  After service in the U.S. Army, he obtained a bachelor's degree at the University of Minnesota and made his career in human resources at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and Duluth Campuses.  A farm boy at heart, he enjoyed fixing things, growing things and building things.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Lambert and Meta; brother, Ervin; sister Irene Andres; and wife Mary Ann.

Survivors include: son, Timothy Hagen of Minneapolis, MN; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Paula Hagen of Otsego, MN; daughter, Sara Eberhard of Black Hawk, SD; grandchildren, Jane, Jessica, Molly, Angie, Benjamin, Daniel, Keira, Paige, and Elijah; brother-in-law, Terry Andres; former daughters-in-law, Chris Hagen and Narene Hagen; and former son-in-law, Zane Eberhard.
