Alyce Rude, 68, Sturgis, died Thursday, May 26, 2011, at her home with her family present.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services at Kinkade Funeral Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Black Hills National Cemetery with Pastor Paul Lupkes officiating.

Alyce was born January 19, 1943, to George and Viola (Wright) Veitl in Deadwood, SD. She was raised and attended school in Deadwood graduating in 1961.

She married Maynard Lee Rude in Rapid City on October 1, 1966. They were self-employed mechanics and started Lee's Tuneup in 1974. In 1983, Alyce became a motor carrier inspector at the Tilford Port of Entry and was the current manager at the time of her death.

In 1985, they bought a ranch near Nisland where she enjoyed working with horses. Alyce also enjoyed many years of bowling.

Survivors include her husband, Maynard, Sturgis; one son, Lee (Michele) Rude, Sturgis; one sister, Judy (Roger) Larson, Spearfish; and two grandchildren, Miranda and Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
