Amanda May, 34, of Saint Onge, SD earned her wings into heaven on Monday July 3, 2017 after a short but brave, strong & courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mitchell, SD on June 8, 1983.

Amanda was an amazing and beautiful soul with the most beautiful, big eyes. She accomplished many feats in her life. Her outgoing nature & love to make a difference was sparked at the age of 11 at Spearfish Middle School and continued on-through Spearfish High School. She graduated in 2001 and went on to achieve several degrees and was currently working towards a B.A. in Art and Graphic Design at Black Hills State University.

She served in the U.S. Air Force at Scott's Air Force Base as a computer programmer from 2009 to 2012. In 2015 she returned to the Black Hills where she was very active in the Art Club and Mom's Group at BHSU. In the summer of 2016 she began her entrepreneurship at BHSU making 3 minute commercials for local small-producers to promote locally sustainable foods in Spearfish.
