Andrew John Frey, 22, Sturgis, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007, as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Andrew was born August 7, 1985, in Sturgis to Marvin and Wanda (Grubl) Frey. He grew up in Sturgis and graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 2004. He had attended Black Hills State University for 2 years. Andrew was currently working for Benning Construction.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Belle Fourche and the Knights of Columbus in Sturgis.

Survivors include his father, Marvin (Tracy) Frey, Okanogan, WA; his mother, Wanda Grubl, Sturgis; one sister, Jessica Celina Frey, Sturgis; one step-brother, Jake Heidrich, Whitewood; two step-sisters, Amanda (Wade) Smith and their son, Wesley, Worden, MT, and Bobbi Jo (Robert) Koyama and their son, Robert, Hardin, MT; grandfathers, Larry Grubl, rural Sturgis, and Frank Frey, Sturgis; great-grandmother, Laura Grubl, Sturgis; step-grandparents, John and Anne Fillmore, Whitewood; and aunts, uncles, and cousins, James (Joanne) Grubl, Colorado, Dottie (Mike) Kruthoff and their son, Zachary, Rapid City, Marilyn (Ron) Tysdal and their children, Ryan, Todd, Matt, and Tiffany, Sturgis, Arlene (Scott) Sherwood and their daughters, Christine and Suzzanne, Watertown, SD, and Barbara (Doug) Kranz and their son, Tyler, Watertown, SD.

He was preceded in death by grandmothers, Nancy Frey and Jerilyn Celina Grubl; great-grandfather, Carl Grubl; and great-grandparents, Frank and Marie Frey, Edward and Selene (Weisz) Erickson, and Everette and Margaret Follette.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 31, 2007, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Arnold Kari officiating.
