Angie G. Paklin, 77, Sturgis, died Monday June 26, 2006 in the Hospice Unit of the Sturgis Regional Medical Center.
A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Regional Long Term Care Center.
Survivors include her husband Gene Paklin, Sturgis; two daughters, Dianna (Jack) Venable and Deb (Larry) Taylor, all of Rapid City; two sons, Don Paklin, Buffalo and Doug Paklin, Sturgis; also 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three sisters, Ruby Williams, Rapid City, SD, Mary Palmer, Belle Fourche, Fern Blow, Sturgis; one brother, Roy Hughes, Kansas.
Angie was born October 14, 1928 to Ray and Emma (Hart) Hughes in Plainview, SD. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools.
Angie married Gene Paklin on March 8, 1948 in Rapid City, SD. They ranched near Union Center where they raised their children, until 1972.
They moved to Sturgis where they owned and operated Paklin Shoe Repair on Main St. Angie, later, had a career selling tupperware.
Angie enjoyed being a 4H leader in Sturgis for several years. Her biggest joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, parents, three sisters and one brother.
Burial at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
