Ann was born January 22, 1935, to Clifford and Dorothy (Olson) Crowser in Custer, SD. Annie spent her childhood growing up in the Custer, Keystone, and Tilford areas. She was the oldest of twelve children.

Annie graduated from Sturgis High School in 1953. She worked as a nurse's aide for several years and during this time she gave birth to a son, Doug. Shortly after, she met and married Merlin Ehlers and to this union they had two children, Randall and Kimberly. With Annie's loving and caring nature, she opened her home as a care provider for many families. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Cooper and Dr. Christianson for numerous years. Before retiring, she worked for John and Bonnie Ismay at the Sturgis Veterinary Hospital where they treated her as their own. Annie was always willing to go above and beyond to pull off a good prank. She will be forever loved and missed, as she was a phenomenal mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Grateful for sharing her life are two sons, Doug (Gilda) Harvey and Randall (Joyce) Ehlers; daughter, Kimberly (Harold) Matz; three grandsons, Dylan Ehlers, Derrik (Emily) Ehlers, and Jace Matz; two granddaughters; Desirae (Travis) Daddato and Randee Kay Matz; five sisters, Betty Jo Beckwith, Dixie (Mike) Larsen, Peggy (Bob) Hauk, Penny Crowser, and Tami (Darrel) Hatzenbuhler; two brothers, Lyle (Holly) Crowser and Linn Crowser; sisters-in-law, Marlyn Crowser and Carla Stark; special friend and sister-in-law, Maxine Ehlers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Darlene Kinyon and Bonnie Lehmann; two brothers, Jack and Jim Crowser; one nephew, Scott Larsen; and three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ehlers, Dan Kinyon, and Kay Beckwith.

A memorial has been established to the Sturgis Veterinary Hospital Animal Fund in Memory of Ann Ehlers.
