Ann Torgerson, age 70, of Whitewood, SD, passed away March 7, 2021 while surrounded by family.
Ann was born November 17, 1950 and raised by her parents, Walter and Edith Guhl. Ann and her brother, John, grew up and attended school in Oakland, NE. After high school, Ann attended college, where she graduated from Bonner Beauty School in Fremont, NE. After working in the beauty profession for a period of time, Ann held various office jobs prior to retirement.
Ann was blessed with her two beautiful daughters, Shontelle and Nicole, and later nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In 2002, Ann married Miles Torgerson and was blessed with an extended family of sons, Eric, Chad, and Jordan, followed by even more precious grandchildren.
Ann and Miles continued sharing their lives together along with their combined family and friends for the next 19 years, including celebrating Ann's victory over lung cancer in 2010. The two eventually moved from Fremont, NE and settled in South Dakota. There was a continuing love for rival college teams, as Ann loved her Cornhuskers and Miles supported his favorite team (not to be mentioned), that borders western Nebraska.
When Ann was not at work, she enjoyed spending her time socializing with friends, crocheting blankets for family, taking car rides while listening to music, and maybe most of all, supporting her Nebraska Cornhuskers with her dogs by her side. Although Ann did not favor a team with a Buffalo mascot, she did favor the actual Buffalo itself, which she enjoyed observing during travel and vacations.
Ann is survived by her husband, Miles Torgerson; daughters, Shontelle Tweedy (Eddy Koehler) and Nicole (Steve) Bolton; step-sons, Eric (Cindy) Torgerson, Chad (Natalie) Torgerson, and Jordan (Stephanie) Torgerson; and an abundant supply of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edith Guhl, and brother, John Guhl.
Services for Ann will be held at a later date in Nebraska.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
