Arlene Goergen, 68, of Crawford, Nebraska, went to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, December 20th, 2021, at Monument Health Hospice House, Rapid City, South Dakota.

Arlene Faye (Petersen) Goergen was born July 9th, 1953, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred Petersen. Born in Cando, ND, Arlene was raised on the farm with her brothers, Ronnie and Jerry, and sisters, Sharon, Karen and Joyce.

Arlene spent many years in the nursing field working in numerous hospitals and nursing homes between South Dakota and Nebraska. Not only did she spend countless hours putting people at such a high priority, but she also exemplified to all of us what it means to love others how God wants us to love. Arlene's passion was to serve others and that's what she did without fail. Even in her last few weeks on this earth, Arlene was constantly worrying about others and if everyone was doing good. Arlene had unconditional love for everyone she met. She was the most loving and giving person.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Mildred Petersen, as well as brothers Jerry Petersen of Duluth, MN, Ronnie Petersen of Cando, ND, and Nephew Jesse Davis of Bagley, MN.

Arlene is survived by her longtime companion David Dodd of Crawford, NE; her three sisters, Sharon Neidert of North Dakota, Karen Miller of Iowa, Joyce Kroll of Minnesota; her children, Kim Tippetts of Missouri, James (Traci) Jesienouski of Oregon, Angela Pearson (Steve Huber) of South Dakota, Jennifer Husman (James Booth) of Utah, Dusty Barker (Courtney Fulginiti) of Wyoming; grandchildren, Melissa (Justin) Bock, Koty (Angie) Tippetts, Zac Tippetts, Piper Schmale, Dakota Jesienouski, Ashlynn Jesienouski, Kelsey Jesienouski, Richard Weischedel, Amanda Flowers, Dylon Booth, Derrick Husman, DeeAnna Booth, Natalie Walker, Aleia Owens-Welch, Kinley Barker, Brynley Barker; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and others she considered her family.

There will be a Celebration of Life for all friends and family in Cando, ND, in the Spring. We will also be holding small Celebrations of Life in Crawford, NE, and Sturgis, SD. Dates are yet to be established. (Until we meet again.)
