STURGIS - Ashley Diane Nelson, 17, Sturgis, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 near Sturgis as a result of an automobile accident.

Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Sturgis Brown High School Gymnasium with Pastor Keith Nelson officiating. Burial follows at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established. Ashley was born March 8, 1991 in Sturgis to Leslee Nelson.

She was born two months premature and left our lives prematurely as well. She grew up in Sturgis and was going to graduate from high school in 2009. She played softball in the summers and was currently employed at Pizza Hut. Ashley had a loving heart and held her family very dear. One of her greatest joys was showing her love to her little cousins. Her sense of humor will never be forgotten and her smile will always be in our memories. She was always taking pictures of her family and friends and had high hopes of being a photographer someday.

Ashley will be greatly missed by her entire family. Survivors include her parents, Leslee and Curt Wood, Sturgis; brothers, Nicolis and Jacob Wood, Sturgis; sister, Holly Wood, Sturgis; father, Steve Talley, Scottsbluff, NE; maternal grandparents, Larry and Norma Nelson, Sturgis; maternal great grandparents, Jim Blakeman, Sturgis; paternal grandparents, Richard and Monica Wood, Sturgis; paternal great grandmothers, Ida Gunderson, Sturgis; Berdie Mehrer, Pierre; Leona Baysinger, Woonsocket; special friends, Daryn and Lisa Werlinger, Derek and Winnona Werlinger all of Sturgis. Her aunts and uncles include; Larry and Kim Nelson, Gillette, WY, Jim and Sara Nelson, Sturgis, Tina and Clint Brengle, Sturgis, Nicole and Kevin Forrester, Sturgis, Mike and Shelli Nelson, Sturgis, David and Jana Nelson, Sturgis, Colleen and Mike Grant, Broomfield, CO, Laurie and Jamie McVay, Sturgis, Chanda and Preston Findley, Spearfish, Kristi and Mato Standing High, Mission, Brian Wood, Sturgis, and Adam Wood, Sturgis. Ashley is preceded in death by maternal great grandmother Pearl Blakeman, paternal great-grandfather Pete Gunderson, great-uncle Bill Blakeman, special cousins Jenny Dawkins and Ryan Mullen.
