Audrey Ellen Bartlett Meyer was born November 16, 1920, in Kinghurst County, MN, to Vance Lovette and Sylvia Hazel (Grier) Bartlett.

She married Lawrence William Truax and they settled in Onamia, MN. Three children were born to this union; David William, Joanne Ellen, and Judy Ann.

Audrey worked at several jobs and enjoyed high ranking positions in the Rebecca Lodge in Sturgis. Helping others was her joy.

Audrey married Paul Meyer in 1985 and they lived in Sturgis, SD. They wintered in their comfy trailer in Quartzite, AZ, at their daughters desert family property where daughter, Joanne, lived. Holidays were a joy with visitors from both Audrey and Paul's families.

Audrey passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Happy to have shared her life are her son, David William (Judy) Truax, Maiden Rock, WI; daughter, Judy Ann Rees, Carlsbad, CA; six grandchildren, Steven and Brian Truax, Patrick Holbert and Kelly Shermak, Dell Weinkauf and Tonia Chambers; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Phillip Truax, Lacy Shermak, Jassandra and Cashton Holbert and Greg Weinkauf ; and one great-great-grandchild, Jacelyn Chambers; sisters, Lorraine Larson, Minn., and Barbara "Bobby" Austin, Torrance, CA; brothers, Darwin (Mardell) Bartlett, Red Wing, MN, Vance Bartlett, Bruno, MN, and Douglas (Arlou) Bartlett, Chugiak, AK.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Ellen Weinkauf-Donavan; husband, Paul Meyer; sisters, Vivian Anderson and Jocelyn Ridgway; and brothers, Jeffery, Lary, Norman, and Elwin.

Visitation is Sunday, September 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis.

Funeral service will be held Monday, September 18, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Spearfish. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

A Memorial has been established.
