B. Elaine Allen 65, of Belle Fourche, SD., formerly of Opal, SD, died Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Spearfish Regional Hospital. Visitation will be Thursday, November 24, 2005 from 4-7:00 p.m. at Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Sturgis. A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2005 at the funeral home, with Pastors Bill Haley and Charles Dutcher officiating. Interment will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Immediately following the interment a luncheon to follow at the VFW at Sturgis. Elaine was born September 10, 1940 at Newcastle, WY to Ross and Bertha (Procunier) Allen. She grew up and received her education graduating from Newcastle High School in 1958. She worked for Commercial Credit and Mountain States Belle Telephone until 1960, and in Belle Fourche for Northwestern Bell until fall of 1961. On September 5, 1961 she married Dean W. Allen at Rapid City. Together they moved to the ranch outside Opal, SD where they lived until 1998 when they sold the ranch and moved to Belle Fourche. She belonged to the Rapid City Genealogical Society and Faith Historical Committee helping write Faith Country Heritage. She was the family historian, and would do anything for her family; they meant the world to her. All that knew her will sadly miss her. Survivors include her husband Dean W. Allen of Belle Fourche, daughter Laurie Kost of Parkston, SD, stepdaughters LaDeana Allen of Citrus Heights, CA, JoAnn McCeig of Aztec, NM, stepson Dean Allen of Newport, OR, brother Frank Allen of Riverside, CA, eight grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
