Baine Arthur Maupin was born June 7th, 1951, in Pierre, SD to Thomas J. and Christine Maupin of Eagle Butte, SD.

In 1952 the family moved to the ranch south of Alzada MT. just over the Wyoming line, where they raised Hereford bulls, for many years.

Baine attended grade school near the ranch. He was a man of many talents, rancher, ranch hand, truckdriver, hauling bentonite, cattle, sheep, and horses, he even trained racehorses in Arizona.

He married Cheryl Till, they had one daughter, then they later divorced. On September 2, 1990, he married Barbara “Bobby” Wahlfeldt, in Sturgis, SD, from that union he gained two daughters, and a son, and several grandchildren.

They had many adventures together since then working on various ranches and finally settling in Buffalo, SD. Baine had a green thumb and raised a large garden. He also managed the Buffalo Waste site, until his health forced his retirement. His health resulted in many trips to the hospital and it finally into hospice care, where he passed away in the early morning hours of March 28 at Peaceful Pines in Belle Fouche, SD.

Baine was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Christine Maupin, his sisters Peggy. Symonds, brother Thurman, J.W. (Bogie) and Jim.

He is survived by his loving wife (Bobbie), her three children, seven grandchildren, and ten great- great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.

It must have been true love because they divorced, reunited, they spent nearly 30 years together, that included a remarriage in 2023.

Burial will follow later, at the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, in the family plot.
