Barry Lynn Bartels went to rest peacefully at home September, 25th 2024. After several years of serious medical issues, Barry's true quiet and gentle strength shown through to the end.

Barry Bartels was born on August 7th, 1951 in Onida, South Dakota to Bruce and Elsie (Combellick) Bartels. Barry was raised in Gettysburg, SD graduating High School there before moving to the Black Hills. In 1971 Barry married Toni (Reller) Kymala and out of this union came two beautiful children. Barry spent three years in the military stationed in Ft. Hood, TX after which he moved back to the Black Hills and began logging for many years until retirement.

Barry is preceded in death and now at home with his son – Shawn Bartels, daughter – Kerry Bartels and parents.

Graveside services, with military honors at, will be at Black Hills National Cemetery on Monday, October 7, 2024, 1:30 p.m.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
