Obituary

Benjamin was born March 30, 1929, to Benjamin and Florence (Warren) Bauer in Cottonwood, SD.

Ben served in the Navy Construction Battalion.

Ben spent the latter part of his life writing stories and recording his family history. The following was found among his writing as part of his self-written obituary and last wishes:

"I was here, now I am gone and it was for such a short time to. I can only hope that my presents here made a difference for some of you. My wealth was in my family which was more than some had. Additional wealth was in my friends,

There were many things I would have liked to have accomplished while I was here. But most important was the love, honor and humor that I received and tried to pass on to others. I leave no statues or famous last words to remember me by. What wisdom I held and tried to pass on was one of my gifts to you.

Hold your head high, be truthful. Follow the commandments and never trust a Politician no matter what he or she says."
