Upton,WY - The Lord called Benny D. Hobbs home, Friday, May 31, 2013 from the Weston County Health Services, Newcastle, WY. Benny was born August 10, 1950 in Newcastle, WY to Delbert and Letha (Bloom) Hobbs. He was raised in Upton, WY and attended high school there. He was an extremely accomplished truck driver from over the road trucking to hauling cattle in the local area and everything in between. On December 30, 1986 he married Lois Hedlund and they remained married until her death in 2006. Benny was the historian and the assistant range master for the Red Wall Muzzle Loaders out of Hot Springs, SD. He loved going hunting all over Wyoming with his friend and comrade Joe Garner. He also enjoyed researching the family history, if you needed to know something you just called Benny, because he knew or knew who you had to talk too to find out. ________________________________________ Some of the descriptions of Benny were "Today the world lost an amazing man", "He was a very courageous person", "He was a very special man", "I will always remember him as a loyal friend", these are only a small number of things that could and have been said about Benny. Rest in peace Brother, Dad, Uncle, Grandpa Benny, we will miss you until we meet again. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Izaak) Smith and grandson Dakota of Murfreesboro, TN, children by marriage, Randy Hedlund and Family of La Pine, OR, John Hedland and Family of Zeeland, MI, Teresea Sutcliff of Fort Peirce, FL, Tammie Crumm and Family of Zeeland, MI; a brother, Jimmy Hobbs of Upton, WY; two sisters, Debbie McCarty of Las Vegas, NV, Connie (Bill) Rainbolt of Upton, WY; step father Jack Webster of Upton, WY; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Benny was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hobbs; his parent, Delbert Hobbs and Letha Hobbs-Webster and his grandparents Clarence & Irene Bloom. Service will be held 1:30pm, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Country Church at Four Corners, WY, with Bill Haley officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Upton at 5:00pm, with Mike Dodd officiating.
