Bun was born in Sturgis on June 14, 1922, to Henry and Agnes (Karrels) Bruch. He attended St. Martins' Academy and graduated in 1941. Bun was a lifelong farmer and rancher in Meade County at Stoneville, Bear Butte Valley, and Alkali Road. He lived his later years on his grandparents homestead in Bear Butte Valley. In his younger days, he belonged to Flying Farmers and flew medicine and mail during the blizzard of '49. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and sang in the choir for many years. In 1967, he married Marcia Barnes in Barrington, IL. He was a dedicated family man who passed on to his sons his many farming and ranching skills. Bun was never hesitant to help neighbors, family, strangers, or to volunteer his sons to help.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia, and four sons, David, Mark (Pilar), Mike, and Bruce, all of Sturgis; two brothers, Henry, Sturgis, and Francis, Newcastle, WY; two sisters, Leona and Mary Louise Bruch, Sturgis; step-grandchildren, Cole and Faryn Sawyer; and twenty-eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony, Clarence, and Joe; and his sister, Bernadine.
A memorial has been established for St. Martins' Chapel.
