Bernice Lindeman, 90, of Sundance met her Savior, Jesus Christ and went to heaven on Thursday, February 27, 2025 while living in Crook County Longterm Care Center.
Bernice was born November 28, 1934 to Jacob and Martha Wiedenmeyer at the family farm in rural Mercer County, North Dakota. She was the last of six children. Bernice became a child of God at her baptism on December 23, 1934, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kronthal, North Dakota. Her faith was confirmed June 26, 1949 in the same church. She attended county school through the eighth grade. On June 22, 1952, Bernice married Otto Lindeman of Dodge, North Dakota. They farmed for a few years before moving to Lead, South Dakota in 1955. Five years later they moved to Sturgis to follow construction work. Later they moved to Gillette, Wyoming to be closer to their daughter, and then Sundance where they retired.
Bernice enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and vegetable, embroidering, and reading. She was active at the Senior Center in Sundance, often playing card games, puzzling, and helping to serve monthly meals. After her vision failed, she gave up on her favorite activities.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, infant sons, Keith and Charles, her parents, her siblings; Lorena Scheid, Edgar Wiedenmeyer, Herbert Wiedenmeyer, Mildred Heth, and Delora Litzinger along with their spouses, and a few nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Schlomer (Marco) of Upton, WY, grandchildren; Kayla Sandoval of Parker, CO, Marc Schlomer (Bonny) of Windsor, CO, Loren Schlomer (Melissa) of North Las Vega, NV, and Amber Poth (Steve) of Greeley, CO, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
At the time of her death, Bernice was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Spearfish, SD. A funeral service will be held on March 10, 2025 at 10:30 with the burial Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
