Obituary

Bernice Stephenson Stewart, born in Kansas City, Kan. Dec. 20, 1942 departed this earth on June 7, 2017 in Sturgis, S.D.

She was a resident of Nevada since 1982 and a Pahrump resident since 2005. Bernice did volunteer work for the American Red Cross, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and Sexual Assault Support Services in Reno, Nev. She was the first female security shift supervisor at Harrah's Casino in Reno. She was a Navy veteran, a Navy wife, mother and grandmother.

Bernice is survived by her husband, George W. K. Stewart of Pahrump; son, Daniel, and wife, Kelly and twin grandsons, Evan and Drew of Renton, Wash.; son, Douglas, and wife, Karoli and grandsons, Kai and Taos of Jacksonville, Ore.

Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery on September 20 at 10 a.m.
