Betty Grace West passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Monument Health on May 3rd, 2026.

Betty was born to Harold and Fern Work on January 28, 1930 in Fairview, South Dakota and was the 3rd oldest of 10 children.

She married Max D. Rogers on December 2, 1947, and they had three children; Linda L. Rogers, Chris Rogers and Patty Stover.

She married David L. West on March 29, 1984.

She is survived by her two daughters; Linda & Patty, her daughter in law; Lorna, her grandchildren; Valerie (and her husband, Cole) Overby-Smith, Stephanie Overby, Justine (and her husband, Derek) Wilhite, Chad Rogers and Kian Hamsher. Great Grandchild; Daxton Wilhite. Sisters; Mary Wickersham and Gloria Cosgrove. Her dog Romeo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David, her son; Chris, sister Darlene and brothers Aaron, LaVern, Robert, Billie, Marlin and Joseph.

Mom was a very special and beautiful person inside and out and we will miss her loving and caring ways, along with her special language. She was always coming up with her own interpretations for every day words.

We want to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Monument Health for the care that was shown to her and we want to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Michael Hogue. In the brief time that she was at Monument, Dr. Hogue and Mom created a special friendship and she adored him.

She has left such a void in our lives and we all look forward to the day that we see her in heaven.

We know she is in heaven with her son Chris and husband Dave and all of our canine babies that have passed.

Upon her request, cremation has taken place and internment will be next to her husband Dave at BH National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. She also requested that there be no funeral as she wanted to be remembered as a happy and loving soul.
