Betty Ann Wesner, 60, Whitewood, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Betty was born April 12, 1948 at Dupree, SD, to Ralph and Irene (Gross) Marple. She attended country school and grew up in the Dupree and Faith area. She spent her teen years in Lead, SD.
Betty married Samuel Wesner at Sturgis on June 19, 1976. The family made their home in Whitewood.
Betty worked as a nurses aide in Belle Fourche. She waitressed at the Belle Inn and cooked for several years at the St. Onge sale barn. She also worked several years for Black Hills Special Services and was a cook at the Heritage Acres at the time of her death.
Survivors include her husband Sam Wesner, Whitewood; two sons Kelly, Sturgis and Don (April), Hilsboro, ND; three daughters, Carmen (David), Opal, Crystal, Spearfish and Shelly (Tony), Spearfish; one sister, Shirley (Gary) Snyder, Waxahatchie, TX; also 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Jolene and grandson, Devin.
The family will be receiving friends at the Wesner home in Whitewood from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
