Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty (Crider) West on December 31, 2025. Betty was born on November 27, 1933, to Samuel and Anna Crider of Vienna, MO. She was the third eldest of ten children. She met her first husband and moved away in 1952. She lived in Texas and Idaho before settling in California, where she and her husband raised their four children. Betty was a wonderful mother, sister and friend, and touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She loved her family unconditionally and her passing will leave a void in their lives. She was an avid baker, seamstress and quilter with a talent for wedding cakes.

After more than 50 years away, she returned to Vienna to be near her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed retirement and small-town life for another 15 years. She then spent time with her three daughters before moving to South Dakota to live with her daughter Kami permanently. She spent her remaining years enjoying her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded death by her sons, Thomas Beutler and Ray Beutler; brothers, Norman Crider, Leo Crider and Harold Crider, and sisters, Georgia Hood, Katie Risse and Lois Crider. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Kadel, Kami (Walt) Denett, Donna (Wayne) Eisele, and daughter-in-law, Candy Beutler. Sisters: Shirley Huffman, Lucy Branson and Linda Crider. Grandchildren: Erin, Andrew, Michael, Zachary, Courtney, Morgan, and six great-grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest at Kenner Cemetery in Hayden, MO, at a date to be determined.
