Beverly Jean
Coacher
December 4, 1930 – April 30, 2017
Beverly was born December 4, 1930, to Nellie and William "Bill" Tucker, of Colorado Springs. Beverly graduated from Palmer High School as part of the Class of 1949. Shortly thereafter, she met William H. "Bill" Coacher, of Sturgis, SD. After their marriage on December 27, 1952, the couple moved to South Dakota, where they welcomed a daughter and three sons. After her husband's graduation from the University of South Dakota Law School, the couple made their home in Sturgis, SD, where they resided until Bill's retirement. At that time, they moved to Pierre, SD, where they remained until Bill's death in 1989. Beverly remained in Pierre with her daughter until 1996, when the two ladies relocated back to Beverly's hometown of Colorado Springs, CO.
Beverly was known throughout her life as a woman who valued elegance and class. She raised her children to be upstanding, civic-minded individuals with a deep patriotism and loyalty to family.
Beverly Jean Coacher 86, passed away April 30, 2017, in Colorado Springs, CO. Her daughter and sister were beside her as she departed.
Beverly is survived by her children: daughter, Sue Ellen Coacher of Colorado Springs, CO; son, Lt. Col. Robert "Bob" Coacher, USAF (ret.) and his wife, Catherine Maimon, of Alexandria, VA; son, William R. "Bill" Coacher of Sturgis, SD; and son, Barry Coacher of Sturgis, SD. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Joyce Howells of Colorado Springs, CO; her nieces, Linda Abramson of San Diego, CA, and Wendy Zerr of Denver, CO; and her nephew, Kent Howells of Las Vegas, NV. Finally, Beverly is survived by her five grandchildren: Capt. Kacey Ezell, USAF, of North Beach, MD; Robyn Kotter of Harriman, UT; Sgt. Ryan Coacher, USMC, of Jacksonville, NC; Romy Maimon of Cape Cod, MA; and Jessica Maimon of Alexandria, VA; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband and parents, as well as by her elder brother, William "Bill" Tucker.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis.
