Billie Mae Roth, 86, Piedmont, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Billie Mae Miller was born April 4, 1920, in Schleicher County, TX, near Eldorado, the daughter of Felix and Ida Mae (Lassetter) Miller. She moved to Mertzon, TX, in 1927, where she grew up and attended school. She also attended Business College in Abilene, TX. This is where she met Claude Roth and was married in Abilene on Nov 7, 1942. He was stationed at Camp Barkley. After the war, they made their home in several places in the Black Hills area, and in 1953, they built their home near Piedmont. Her husband, Claude, died January 15, 2000.
Billie was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont, the Piedmont Sewing Circle, and the Claude Roth Trucking Bowling Team. She also worked with Claude for Roth Trucking which the couple operated for 30 years.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Tom (Candice) of Piedmont, Bob (Bonnie), Laramie, WY; one daughter and her husband, Claudia (Tom) Morrison, Billings, MT; seven grandchildren, Jason Roth, Rapid City, Amy Boylan, Rapid City, Lori Roth, Schenectady, NY, Ryan Roth, Evans, CO, Wesley Roth, Rapid City, and Emily Morrison, Driggs, ID, and Brady Morrison, Seattle, WA.
Survivors also include seven great-grandchildren, Cienna and Zane Boylan, Rapid City, Noah, Andrew, Nathanael, Sarabeth Roth, Evans, CO, Rylan Barnett, Schenectady, NY; one sister, Georgia and her husband, Pete McDaniel, Horseshoe Bay, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
Billie's family was always special to her and she will be remembered for her friendship, kindness, generosity, faith and love.
Her parents, one sister (Imogene), her husband of 57 years, and numerous other family members preceded her in death.
Burial will follow in the Piedmont Cemetery Piedmont, SD.
