Billy Lynn Vansickel was born September 15, 1997, in Sturgis, SD, to Billy Ray and Jennifer (Griffee) Vansickel. He attended school in Opal, SD, and Sturgis. Billy enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX, mudding, working on cars, dirt bikes, drifting, cruising dirt roads with friends, and
time with his nephew.

Billy was always willing to help anyone he could and he was never without his smile. He was kind and loving to everyone he met.

Billy, 18, Whitewood, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Dickinson, ND.

Survivors include his nephew, Toby Heidzig, Sioux Falls; mother, Jennifer Vansickel, Ross, ND; father, Billy R. Vansickel, Sturgis; sister, Kayla Vansickel, Sioux Falls; brothers, Kolt Vansickel, Brookings, SD, and Noah Hannah, Arizona; grandparents, Dwight and Karlene Griffee, Sturgis, and Bev and Sonny Christoffersen, Sturgis; great-grandmother, MaGee Vansickel, Spearfish, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Aiden VansickelHeidzig; and grandparents, Edna and Earl Matz, Norman Vansickel, and Bill Vansickel.

A memorial has been established for improvements to the Skate Park in Sturgis.
