Bonnie Ruth Chambers, 79, of Sturgis died February 28, 2012 at Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care.

Visitation will be noon until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Del Neumeister officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Bonnie was born June 25, 1932 at Bloomington, CA, to Gertrude and Lester (Johndrew) Wear. She attended school at Colton High School near Bloomington and went on to attend two years at Skadron Business College. After graduation, she married Joe Murray Chambers at Yuma, AZ on September 26, 1952. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker while their children were growing up. She then went to work as an office manager at McMahon Furniture Company for ten years. Joe and Bonnie moved to Sturgis in 1989, while Joe worked as a long distance trucker for several years.

Bonnie enjoyed many wonderful trips to Deadwood and trying her luck with scratch tickets. She also enjoyed crosswords, word searches and reading. Joe and Bonnie enjoyed driving through the hills together and loved to garden, maintaining a beautiful garden outside as well as maintaining many beautiful plants inside their home.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan Knight, Sturgis, Cyndi (Dennis) Mattiuzzi, Mariposa, CA, Deanna (Thomas) Wurster, Fresno, CA, and Jeannette (David) deBonnet, Sturgis; a sister, Luella Wear, Bloomington, CA, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, three brothers, Chester, Kenneth, and Vernon; and three sisters, Mary, Mildred, and Lena.
