Obituary

Bonnie Jean (Braithwaite) Price was born in Spearfish, South Dakota, on February 16, 1949, to George and Creta Braithwaite. She grew up in Whitewood, SD, along with her sister MaryAnn. Bonnie graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 1968 and went on to business school. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jerry Price. They were married in 1969 and had three children, Travis Aaron, Christina Jean, and Melissa Lee.

Jerry and Bonnie moved around for a while and finally decided to return to the Black Hills, then in 1993, they settled in Whitewood, and she remained there until the Lord called her home.

Bonnie was very dedicated to family and close friends. Her biggest joy was when her five grandchildren, TJ, Ashley, Kaylee, Krysten, and Jeremy, and her two beautiful great-grandchildren, Everly Violet and Samuel Dean, would come to visit.

She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, playing games on her tablet and keeping in touch with her family through Facebook. In her later years, when she wasn’t able to get around much, she enjoyed sending out birthday and anniversary cards to members and friends of the Black Hills Baptist Church. It helped her feel like she was still able to do the Lord's work. Bonnie loved the Lord deeply and was a strong believer in prayer. She was on many prayer chains and would pray for anyone who asked or needed prayer. She was a “prayer warrior”

Her memory will be cherished by her son, Travis Price; daughter, Melissa and son-in-law, Michael Burns; granddaughters, Krysten (Christoffer) Hegre, Ashley Nicole Price, and Kaylee Elisabeth Price; grandsons, Travis Aaron Price Jr. and Jeremy Steven Dowdy; great grandchildren, Everly Violet and Samuel Dean Hegre; sister, Mary Ann Crawford; and many nieces, great nieces, great-great nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Janet Carlson.

She was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, George and Creta Braithwaite; her husband, Jerry Dean Price; her daughter, Christina Jean Price; and her nephew, Harlan William Garretson. She will be greatly missed.
