Bonnie June Shuttlesworth, age 71, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, surrounded by family. She was the wife of Bob Shuttlesworth. They shared 51 happy years of marriage together. Bonnie was a resident of Oelrichs, SD, at the time of her passing.
She was born in Hot Springs, SD, on November 9, 1946, the middle child of Raymond and Mary Hartman. She lived life to the fullest; she served as an RN, drove farm equipment and coal trucks, even co-piloting her husband's airplane.
Her motto to her grandchildren was to face your fears, even to picking up a 5' bull snake one day.
In 2015, she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She went through treatment with a peaceful spirit before finally losing her battle with cancer on September 9th, 2018.
Bonnie was selfless, loving, caring, nurturing, and quietly lived out her faith in Christ, often putting the needs of others before her own. She attended Prairie View United Methodist Church and filled in on occasion as an organist.
She is survived by her husband and spouse, Bob Shuttlesworth; son, Robb Shuttlesworth; daughter, Robonna Kelley and husband, Scott Kelley; grandchildren, Mikayla Kelley Smith and husband, Adam Smith, Cade Kelley, Hope Kelley, and Tessa Kelley. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Sandra Owens and husband, Ron Owens, and Twila Mae Ash and husband, Ken Ash.
The celebration of life service will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Prairie View United Methodist Church, Smithwick, SD. Burial will follow at the Smithwick Cemetery.
