Brian Patrick Collins, 58, of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away August 12, 2016.

He was born in Davenport, Iowa on May 22, 1958. His devoted parents were the late Florence Anne (Forbes) Collins and late Donnie Harrison Collins of Buffalo, Iowa. Brian was the second born of six children raised in Buffalo, Iowa. He will be forever remembered by his loving brothers and sisters, Allen Collins of Tipton; Donnie Collins and wife Cris of Buffalo; Russell Collins of Buffalo; Karen Davis and husband Steve of Blue Grass; and Yvonne Koch and husband Gerard of Winfield, Missouri. In adulthood, he also connected with half sisters he had not previously known, Loretta Smith Cunningham and Tina Reed of California. He is also survived by fourteen loving nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Brian entered the US Navy after graduating from Davenport West High School. He served on the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier in the Pacific. One of his many duties was working the clean-up after the Mt. St. Helens volcano eruption in Washington state in 1980. Throughout his life he held many maintenance positions including snow removal, roofing, and most recently a position with the University of South Dakota in Rapid City.

Brian received his Holy Sacraments at St. Peter Catholic Church, and with God's promise we can be certain he is at eternal peace in God's hands. It is with confidence we say: For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. John 3:16.
