Obituary

Brian Lee Pfeifle was born in Walworth County in 1949. He graduated from Mobridge High School.

After graduating from high school, Brian served our country during the Vietnam War. Upon returning, Brian was married to Dee Ann Hollenbeck on December 12, 1972. They were married for 28 years and had three children: Jada Loy born in 1974, Tigh Lawrence born in 1976, and Jimi Beth born in 1980.

Brian worked as a yard man for Mobridge Livestock for a couple of years after getting married. The family then moved to Valley Springs in 1977 where he was a brand inspector at the Sioux Falls Stock Exchange where he became a longtime employee for the South Dakota Stock Growers. The family returned to Mobridge, where he took over his father-in-law's position as a brand inspector for Mobridge and McLaughlin Sale Barns. He then moved to North Dakota to work for Kist Livestock as a brand inspector until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed meeting and working with all of the people that came through the sale barns. Before and after his retirement, Brian enjoyed working in the hay fields for his good friend, Loren Yates, of Mobridge.

After his retirement, Brian enjoyed visiting with his family and visiting casinos. He also made many trips to Las Vegas, where he watched the PBR.

Brian, 65 of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.

Brian is survived by his 3 children, Jada (Layne) Sulzle, Tigh (Amy) Pfeifle, and Jimi (Obreten) Obretenov, all of Rapid City. He had 8 grandchildren: Heidi Lee, Austyn Jordyn, Connor Lawrence, Taya LeeAnn, Caden John, Rylen Tigh, Alexander Ivan, and Andrew Brian. He is also survived by his sisters, Geri Stillwell and Brenda Brixen, of Tucson, Arizona.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Katie Pfeifle; one infant brother, Floyd; and one infant sister, Lucinda.
