Brittney was born January 9, 1985, to Brian and Debra (Herrick) Maschino in Sioux Falls, SD. One year later she was blessed with a sister, Michelle. Growing up she primarily lived in Sioux Falls but had the opportunity to live in a variety of places until she settled in Sturgis when she was a freshman in high school. She graduated from Sturgis Brown High School in 2003.
Following graduation, she attended SD School of Mines, and it was during this time that she met the love of her life, Robbie Dale Posey. They were united in marriage in Pelzer, SC, on July 4, 2004, and lived on Ellsworth AFB. On February 18, 2005, they were overjoyed by the birth of their son, Jace. The family moved to Greenville, SC, later that year. On July 15, 2006, the family was made more complete by the addition of another son, Gavin.
Brittney was an outstanding student, and worked diligently to sustain her 4.0 GPA. She obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Brevard Community College, FL. She was currently pursuing a degree in psychology at University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, with the goal of obtaining a nursing degree. She loved her family above all and was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid coupon clipper and loved to shop.
She is survived by her husband, Dale, and sons, Jace and Gavin Posey, of Colorado Springs; parents, Brian and Kim (Thome) Maschino of Sturgis; mother, Debra Herrick of Sioux Falls; sisters, Michelle Maschino of Fort Stewart, GA, and Madison Maschino of Sturgis; paternal grandmother, Marjorie Maschino of Garretson, SD; maternal grandparents, Edward and Delores Herrick of Watertown, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and their beloved dog, Thomas.
