Bruce was born in Los Angeles on August 19, 1941, to Richard and Mildred (Finch) Jensen, and spent his early years in Pasadena, California. At age 13, his family moved to El Centro, California in the Imperial Valley. He graduated from Central High School in 1959, and went on to attend Imperial Valley College. He was employed in the furniture business as a salesman and manager in Arizona, and was a carpet salesman in Burbank. He moved with his family to San Diego where he was the sales manager for Design for Living and later became CEO and Chief Operating Manager.

In 1999, Bruce moved to Colorado to be near his grown children and worked for Farm Bureau Insurance in Glenwood Springs. He also briefly enjoyed working for Aspen Valley Harley Davidson. In 2003 he met the love of his life, Patty Leyba and they were married in Harvey Gap State Park in Rifle, Colorado in 2006. Bruce and Patty lived in Duchesne, Utah for five years and then moved to Sturgis, South Dakota in 2012 to be nearer to Patty's family. He and Patty were avid outdoors people and adventurers. They loved traveling, fishing, road trips and new experiences.

Bruce passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Bruce is survived by his wife, brother Paul Jensen (Kathi), sister Myra Steffen, son Jeff Jensen (Debbie), daughter Shana Tyler Jensen (Bill), stepson Dustin Cook (Michelle) and stepson Jeremy Cook (Cheri). He was the proud Grandpa of seven grandchildren: Ashley, Barrett, Matthew, Morgan, Mackenzie, Samantha and Thomas, and had two great-grandchildren, Chase and Piper. He is also survived by nephews Eric Steffen (Kim), Sean Steffen (Nicole), Scott Jensen (Kathleen), Matthew Jensen (Chris, great nephew Aiden and great nieces Abbey, Elise and Avery. Bruce enjoyed being surrounded by a large, loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Glenwood Springs, Colorado at a later date.
