Obituary

Bryan Jay Ingle, 49, passed away on Friday, September 29.

Bryan was born in Thermopolis, WY, on September 28, 1974, Bryan spent his early youth playing baseball in Riverton, WY, gaining notice as a strong hitter, and first baseman. By the time of his family's relocation to Sturgis, SD, his interest had shifted to guitar. His talent was recognized by several teachers, who encouraged him to play in a showcase put on by Sturgis Brown High School's music department. Though his performance brought further encouragement to continue pursuing music, his interest shifted again, this time to military service. Upon graduating from high school, he reported for basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where he qualified as a combat engineer. Upon completion of his training, he was stationed in Germany with the 130th Engineer Brigade. While serving there, he declined a commendation, saying that he was simply doing his job. Following his discharge, he went to work for his father, Don's concrete contracting business. He spent the next several years learning the trade, and the next two decades working on street and bridge projects around the Black Hills, as well as Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota.

His shyness belied a quick wit, quirky sense of humor, and strong work ethic. While he never hesitated to help his family and friends, his generosity extended to the community at large. For a decade, he was a registered bone marrow donor and participated in Youth and Family Services Gifts for Girls program during the last three years of his life.

He is survived by his father, Don; mother, Rosemary; and brothers, Brett, and Ben.

No services are planned at this time.
