Bryan Alan Jonas, age 61, died on Friday, October 9, 2020, at his home in Sturgis, SD, due to complications from ALS.
Bryan was born February 17, 1959 in Rapid City, SD, to James and Beatrice (Norby) Jonas.
Bryan loved the Black Hills and was proud to call them home. He would often say, "People travel from all over the world to see the place I get to call home and wake up in every day." He loved his family, friends, dogs, camping, riding his motorcycle, great music, good food, a cold beer, and great company to share them with. He was a very spiritual man who loved, respected, and valued many religious and spiritual teachings and beliefs. He also loved martial arts and practiced Aikido, Kung Fu, and Tai Chi. He taught yoga for nearly 30 years and was a well-
respected practitioner of Transpersonal Hypnotherapy.
He is survived by his significant other, Jill Eymer; daughter, Christina Jonas; son, Alex Jonas; grandkids, Annabella, Avery, Anthony, and Axel; brother, Stephen (Patricia) Jonas; sisters, Marcia (Mike) Stanley, Vickie Hamling; cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Private Family Service will be held on October 18, 2020, and will be officiated by long-time friend, Reverend Richard Keifer.
Per Bryan's request, memorial contributions will be designated to The ALS Foundation.
